The HEAL Project

The HEAL Project is all about spreading Hope, Empowerment, Awareness, and Love. This two-week long workshop around the topic of self-healing provides participants with strategies for going within to help jump-start their healing journey after having faced severe human traumas, such as outdated cultural practices, displacement from insurrectionists, war, drug trafficking, human trafficking, religious extremism, socioeconomic inequalities, conflict, and violence. The goals of The HEAL Project are to help vulnerable communities around the world feel more empowered by providing them with tools to process through trauma and emotions, to educate them on self-awareness so that they may become better stewards of their overall wellbeing, and to help them to turn inward and heal. As they are being seen, heard, and showered with love and support, it will help provide them with a greater outlook on life. And, by undergoing this self-transformation, it will help breathe hope into them for a brighter future.

More specifically, this program teaches individuals about mindfulness and mindfulness practices, techniques to regulating their emotions, and how to apply these tools and techniques to process through their trauma so that they may heal. The program typically runs for four-weeks in length with one week for phase in to prep for and to tailor the program to the organization’s needs, two weeks of teaching and applying the tools and techniques with the group of individuals, and one week for phase out to ensure any training that may be needed for the organization to continue supporting their community with the tools and techniques learned, and to promote sustainability long after the program ends. The length and layout of the program can be tailored to the needs of the organization and the community that they serve.

This program is also taught through the Ambassadors of Healing Foundation (AOHF). With realizing that not all organizations have a budget that affords them access to this type of program, and to broaden the reach, AOHF was born, a charitable non-profit organization that helps individuals, groups, and communities transform their lives through healing, self-empowerment, mediation, and conflict-resolution. AOHF was founded as another avenue to bring healing to as many corners of the world as possible. It is important that everyone has access to proper care when it comes to healing the traumas that they have experienced whether individually or as a community as a whole.

"With children living in a rescue center away from their relatives and their childhood traumas that led them to being rescued, the trauma healing was paramount and came in handy" and that "the uniqueness of this sessions and the sustainability angle of it was commendable."
